New effort for Salvo Lazzara, on vacation from Germinale and after his (still available) solo cd “Per questi ed altri naufragi”. The formula of “naufragi”, a melting pot of new acoustic music, acoustic jazz and folk prog, here is maintained with a new impulse and more dynamic intentions.
Salvo Lazzara, moving from Mediterranean tradition, is trying to explore music from “all the south of the world”, in a mix of styles, using guitars with open tunings, tapping techniques, rhythmic modules typical of Irish and African tradition, but remaining in a modern path. This aesthetics is shown also in the graphic concept, born from images of a modern but apparently “lost in time” Sicily.
Salvo plays guitars, basses and double electric bass, loops and samples. This time he is supported by two big names of Italian prog like Davide Guidoni (Gallant Farm, The Far Side, Taproban and others) on drums and percussions; and Alessandro Toniolo (Germinale) on flute.
A relaxed but serious listen, with a sense of deep lightness, somewhere inbetween Mauro Pagani and Höstsonaten.
