To celebrate the annual Record Store Day 2015 event, the Italian cult record label Cinevox releases “Cinevox 5”, a special box-set that collects five fundamental pieces of its unrepeatable history.
The box-set gathers the label’s five different shades, each of them here represented by a 45rpm from their most significant productions.
Each 7” refers to a specific movie genre: western (Giù la testa), horror (Profondo Rosso), police/detective (La polizia sta a guardare), comedy (Febbre da cavallo) and thriller (5 bambole per la luna d’agosto).
Tracklist and artwork faithfully reproduce the original ones, but the real deal for collectors is “5 bambole per la luna d’agosto”, which has never been released as a 45rpm until today, and features as a B-side an inedited song played by Balletto di Bronzo that hadn’t been included in the original soundtrack.
The five records are pressed in 5 different colors:
“Giù la testa” (Ennio Morricone) on white vinyl
“Profondo Rosso” (Goblin) on red vinyl
“La polizia sta a guardare” (Stelvio Cipriani) on yellow vinyl
“Febbre da cavallo” (Bixio – Frizzi – Tempera) on blue vinyl
“5 bambole per la luna d’agosto” (Piero Umiliani) on black vinyl
The box-set, also including a booklet with rare photos coming from the record label’s archives, will be printed in two different versions:
– a 400 hand-numbered copies coloured one;
– an ultra-limited crystal clear edition, available in only 100 copies.
“Cinevox 5” is exclusively distributed by BTF.
