“La Morte Ha Fatto l’Uovo” (1968), qui ristampato per la primissima volta in vinile, è uno score unico caratterizzato da sonorità avanguardistiche che si sposano alle tonalità sgargianti di un thriller atipico che omaggia il cinema di Luis Buñuel.
“La Morte Ha Fatto L’Uovo” (Death Laid an Egg) è un giallo del 1968 diretto da Giulio Questi, con un cast di livello internazionale i cui principali attori sono Ewa Aulin, Gina Lollobrigida e Jean-Louis Trintignant, una pellicola molto particolare dalla fotografia dai toni caldi e sgargianti, in forte contrasto con delle atmosfere e una trama cupe e tenebrose.
La colonna sonora del film, composta e diretta da Bruno Maderna, è ancor più particolare e distante dalle sonorità tipiche dell’epoca e di quasi tutte le opere analoghe di quegli anni: nessuna traccia di beat o psichedelia infatti, quanto una raccolta di composizioni astratte e dissonanti, che potremmo definire avanguardistiche ed in parte associare a certi esperimenti caratteristici di una formazione attiva in quegli stessi anni, il Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, ma anche al lato più sperimentale del genere library music. Tutti i brani sono stati realizzati con il solo ausilio di archi, chitarra acustica, pianoforte e spoken word. Un lavoro davvero unico, imprevedibile e quasi impossibile da classificare!

“La Morte Ha Fatto l’Uovo” (1968), here reissued for the very first time on vinyl, is a unique score characterized by avant-garde sounds that combine with the bright tones of an atypical thriller that pays homage to the cinema of Luis Buñuel.
“La Morte Ha Fatto L’Uovo” (Death Laid an Egg) is a 1968 detective movie directed by Giulio Questi, featuring an international cast whose main actors are Ewa Aulin, Gina Lollobrigida and Jean-Louis Trintignant; the warm and bright tones of its photography strongly contrast against the dark and gloomy atmospheres and plot.
The soundtrack of the film, composed and directed by Bruno Maderna, is even more peculiar and distant from the typical sounds of the time, and from almost any other soundtrack released in the 60s: there’s no trace of beat or psychedelia at all, but rather a collection of abstract and dissonant compositions, which we could classify as avant-garde and partly associate with certain experiments made by a contemporary group called Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, but also with the less common side of the library music genre. All the songs were created with the sole use of strings, acoustic guitar, piano and spoken word. A truly unique work, unpredictable and almost impossible to categorize!
